Good questions.

Fit, spray, cleanup, shipping, and what to put in the can. If your question is not here, ask us.

The product

01 / 04
Does it really fit any can?

It fits any standard 12 oz beverage can and standard 16 oz tallboys, because both use the same 2.6 inch rim diameter. That covers nearly every beer, soda, juice, and cider sold in the US.

What does not work: slim cans, most energy drink cans, 8 oz mini cans, and anything in a bottle. If you are unsure about a can you use often, send us a photo and we will tell you straight.

How does the cone stay on?

The patented cone snaps over the rolled lip of the can and grips it. It holds tight enough to pick the whole thing up by the spray head and aim it one-handed, which is the entire point when your other hand is holding tongs.

Is the spray adjustable?

Yes. Turn the collar on the nozzle to go from a wide fine mist to a tight targeted stream. Mist is for even coverage across a rack or a whole brisket. Stream is for a dry patch, the ends of a roast, or getting under a bone.

Does it leak?

The cone seals against the rim and the head twist-locks on, so you can tilt it and spray at an angle without dribbling. Turn it fully upside down and you will get some drip out of the can opening, the same as you would with any open can.

What is it made of?

Food-safe polypropylene, BPA free, made and assembled in the United States. It is built to sit next to a hot grill all afternoon without warping.

Using it

02 / 04
What can I put in the can?

Beer, cola, root beer, hard cider, apple juice, pineapple juice, ginger ale, sparkling water, or a thin marinade or vinegar mop you mixed in an empty can.

Keep it thin and strained. Anything thick enough to coat a spoon, or anything with pulp, herbs, or ground spices floating in it, will clog the nozzle. That stuff belongs on a brush.

When should I start spritzing?

Wait until the bark has set, usually around 90 minutes into a long cook. Spritz before that and you wash your rub into the drip pan. After that, every 45 minutes is plenty. Every lid lift costs you heat and smoke, so spritz on a schedule instead of every time you walk past. Full timings in the spritz schedule.

Will one can last a whole cook?

Usually, yes. A fine mist uses a fraction of what dumping does, and the intake hose reaches the bottom of the can so you actually get the full 12 oz instead of losing the last third. On a 10 hour brisket you might go through two cans.

Can I use it cold, or should the liquid be room temperature?

Either works. Cold liquid on hot meat drops the surface temperature slightly, which is part of why spritzing helps smoke stick and slows the bark from burning. If you are fighting a stall, let the can warm up first.

Can I use it for anything besides grilling?

People have used it for misting plants, spraying down a cutting board, and one guy told us he uses it for charcoal starter fluid, which we are officially not recommending. It was built for the grill.

Cleaning & care

03 / 04
How do I clean it?

You throw the can away. That is the headline.

At the end of the day, twist the head off, run warm water through it, and pull the trigger five or six times to clear the line. Let it air dry on the counter. No soaking, no bottle brush, no mold in the cabinet three weeks later.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Top rack only, and honestly a warm water rinse does the job better. High heat on the bottom rack can warp the twist-lock threads.

What if the nozzle clogs?

Almost always sugar or pulp. Soak the spray head in warm water for ten minutes, then pump clean water through it. If you sprayed something with pulp in it, that is the culprit. Strain next time.

Orders & shipping

04 / 04
How much does it cost?

$19.99 for a single. The two-pack is $35.99 and clears free shipping on its own. The three-pack is $49.99, which works out to $16.66 each and is the move if you are buying gifts.

When will my order ship?

Orders leave the warehouse in 1 to 2 business days. Most US addresses see it 3 to 5 business days after that. Shipping is free on orders over $35. Details on the shipping and returns page.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not yet. We are US only while we get the launch under control. Join the list in the footer and we will tell you the day that changes.

What is the return policy?

30 days. If the cone will not seat on a can you use regularly, or it just is not for you, send it back for a refund. We would love to know which can it was so we can log it.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes. It is a $20 impulse buy in a retail-ready gift box, which is a good fit for hardware stores, butcher shops, liquor stores, and BBQ supply. Start on the wholesale page.
